strange brake issue

o1 r1150rt , full left lock on a slow maneuver (like a 6 point turn in my yard to turn the bike) and if i touch the front brake, it won't release.
pull the right bar towards centre and it free's up.
there is only 23k on it,so sort of hoping it's not a collapsed hose inner.
stripped the brakes all pistons and sliders are free and not sticking anywhere.
bled the system through,(& from abs head with funnel)

checked up on stand with a helper and front and rear link all working sweet, brakes releasing , perfect.
wheels on the ground forward a couple of feet, and the brake applied, locked ! again..
wtf!!! is it. ?????

Headscratching here you seem to have covered the options

Just reference your bit about moving handlebars bar to centre it frees off makes me think Possibly the Flexible from the front Master cylinder to the top pipe run to the abs ???

Is the ABS still whining while it's locked??

Deterioration of brake hoses has very little to do with mileage, it's an age thing. If the hoses are original they are more than 12 years old and should have been changed a while ago. Maybe it's not the cause here but I would be very nervous about riding a bike with hoses that old.

brake issue

had something similar after changing spoked wheels to cast ones on my 01 GS, front brakes wouldn't release, changed the brake lines (thanks Mark71, brilliant job) and all is well again, possibly the taking off of calipers and checking them has introduced flex into the lines and exacerbated delamitation?
