Yesterday, I received an email from MRA with a friend request from someone called Robert Yates. He has been a member since 7th April 2025 (Checked on the MRA Forum showing users). He has a picture of a 1200 Tiger as his 'Avatar' - or he did, it's now disappeared. He has requested access to a group I set up of routes to my forthcoming Luxembourg trip. I did a touch of research in the MRA help pages and it appears to suggest that he could not have known I had the named folder or group, without already being a friend. The folder/routes are limited to access by existing friends. I also noted that they day he joined the forum was the last time he was on it. His profile shows no activity whatsoever. No-one coming on the trip knows him, either.
I have refused the friend request, blocked him and reported the approach to MRA.
Has anyone had anything similar recently? Could this be some strange type of phishing attempt?
