Took Betty out for the first time on me bike today
Not too sure though! led me to Strata Florida Abbey, no Probs.. Rode on into Forestry territory for a few miles, a maze of Nobbly tracks, got utterly lost, what an area!! so set Betty to route me Home, shortest route. Betty said 2.2miles SE enter roundabout. Great, 14 junctions and 4 miles later, press Speak. Betty says 2.4 miles turn right. I am now well and truly LOST! Conclusion, Betty is a Tosser off the Tarmac. Trusting to my Nose (it's Big) and the Sun I eventually found my way back to the Abbey, 3.5 Hours, slips and slides later, and betty is a tosserat helping to pick up the GSA.
Conclusion, SP111, 3 months old, as new, for sale. Next time use the XR250R, at least I can pick it up

Strata Florida

Wonderful part of the world Rob,the area you got lost in can be like the Bermuda triangle unless you know the area or how to work your GPS ( I dont! ) you dont just "get lost" with GPS,you trust it to re-route you-then you get totally stuffed
Fit a tracker to the bike and report it stolen, then someone might come and find you:D

The Byway from Strata Florida is a place I've rode and driven many times,it's not a place I'd take my own Adv maybe somebody else'
It's probably not a good idea to take the XR either without a "riding buddy", if you fell off and broke a bone in an area with no mobile signal, how long before somebody found you?
Egg sucking lesson now over ;)

You are so right Steve

I've never been before, but will sure go back on the tiddler and with someone who has been there and done that (where is Dennis lately, since the ADV he's dissapeared  )

Did you have it set for Off Road?

I think that I would have marked the location of the nearest proper road, set the unit to Off Road, and then had it navigate you to that point.

Once there, reset the unit to Faster Time (or Shorter Distance), then ask it to calculate a route to your 'Home' waypoint.

After our last jaunt off-road you said never again, you should have let me know I would have come with you.Strata Florida on an ADV is not somthing you should do on your own.

Andy, I never will again, It was a bit scary, wild, BIIIIG and not for my Adv, that's for sure  I was only testing the new toy and it seemed a shame to get to the Abbey and not at least have look a bit further. Next time I'll round up a Posse and go Mob Handed on me XR ;)

I've also sold the GPS so I can get lost lots easier now :D :D
