Streamline Carbon hugger

No, but it looks like the clearance is so low that you'd end up with a sandwich of mud rubbing against your tyres. Nice I guess if you are not going to go off road.

Err..

I suspect that there's some history between this product and another maunfacturers discontinued one.

Don't know what that history is but I would personally be wary.

I guess you mean the front fender? Yes it looks weird with a big gap at the front and tight against the tire at the back.

But I'm more interested in the rear hugger.

Correct......

I'm not going to air this issue publicly.....suffice to say we had to recall the items made by this company on safety grounds.

The close clearances were one issue.

As we have instigated legal proceedings against Streamline Carbon it would be inappropriate for me comment further.

In the pic on the link above, it doesn't look like they've fitted it properly as the clearance at the front is too large, and the clearance at the back is too small.

Some magic washers would fix that.

I've got one on my bike (it was a Motorrad Concepts one as it happens) and it does a great job keeping crud off the engine & my boots. Fitting was a bit fiddly to get the clearances correct. Also, the mounting bolts on the underside of the bottom yolk are a nightmare and feel like they are cross-threaded and/or shearing all the time.

Looks like the front fender is just like the Concepts one, which in turn looks just exactly like a copy of the original BMW plastic one which has been extended, just look at the ribbing on the back!

imitation is indeed flattery....

Streamline Carbon are displaying an image of the Motorrad Concepts front fender on their website, because unlike us, he's not a 1200GS owner able to develop & display his own products on his own bike.....

Our revised front fender is, in fact, completely different to the one displayed, in that the rear clearance matches the front clearance for a more balanced appearance & increased effectiveness.

The overall styling is also completely different.

Confusing mail Dutch, one minute they are displaying a picture of your fender and the next you have a different design...or is it just that your picture now has your fender gapped properly...

Not knocking either, just glad that we're at last starting to see a 'variety' of products for the GS12, the more the merrier...that way we won't all be clones!

Apologies, Miro.....let me clarify:

The image on SC site is of the original Motorrad Concepts front fender which is discontinued, not because we had any problems specifically with it, but because we ran out of stock after severing our relationship with SC following the hugger fiasco.

We therefore took the opportunity to further improve the design of the front fender, images of which will be posted on our company website just as soon as I can find the time.
