Well I've had my Street Glide for about 18 months now and its a keeper so time to spend a quid and change a few things.

The handling is very good for a Harley but all things can be improved.

First a set of Progressive rear shocks and a Progressive Touring link

Next a stage one tune consisting of Vance and Hines true dual headers, monster oval tail pipes,fuel pack and air filter. I'm not a huge fan of chrome so opted for the black option.

The improvement is very noticable the handling is much firmer and planted and the stage one has pepped up the low to mid range making the engine pull cleaner. The pipes sound nice without being "FAG" loud

VERY nice.
I've been without a Harley for about 5 months now after deciding that one bike was enough to keep in the garage (I'd sold an 07 'Glide and an 06 R12S when I bought the 12GS)
Looking at your SG ................I WANT ANOTHER HARLEY!
The Progressives will transform your bike,no doubt about that. I had a pair on my last but one H-D,an 06 FXD35,worth every penny. Try some Avon Venoms,they're good too,miles better that the o/e Dunlops.
I put a pair of LidHaulers on my 'Glide aswell,they protect the paint when the missus is climbing on and off and are dead handy for tent/sleeping mats when you're off camping at the Bash with Mutley's known associates.
Mutley,ever had an old Sporty? I'm being offered a '72 XLCH. Almost mint,£2.5k. any good?

I've never had one but a couple of mates have old ones.

They look great if you flat track them That will also stop you trying to ride them very far

In all pre 2009 touring models there can be some flex in the motor esp on high speed corners it never felt like it was getting out of shape but was a wee bit unsettling. The link stiffens things up a little and makes the whole thing feel more secure. I could of lived with it and many people do but the change was worth it to me

It takes about an hour to fit so whatever an hours labour is at your local Harley dealer or Harley independant. There is also a step by step video on the link if you fancy having a go yourself
