Looks like this large main dealer for Triumph, Yamaha and Suzuki have gone into administration. Wifey bought her riding kit from them some years ago as they had a decent range of stuff for women and they were very helpful. I wonder if there's more dealers struggling out there.

Bound to be. I also heard of this today from a bikermate who has his bike in for some warranty work. (Triumph) He was unable to retrieve his steed as the place was shuttered and locked.

I was in there a couple of weeks ago, thought the non-Triumph showroom was unusually low on stock.
Never bought a bike from them, always thought their prices were at the top end of the scale.

I was in the shop about a month ago.
No indication that it might be about to close.

Although reasonably local. It wasn’t a shop I went too very often. 3 times in total.

Big Si….
Did your mate get his bike back?

Actually, I don’t know. He wasn’t at the meet the other night so I can probably conclude that he hasn’t. I’ll make some enquiries.

From the local press, they are blaming it on people not buying electric bikes (the page is behind a paywall, text copied and pasted here)

The voluntary liquidation followed a period of sustained trading difficulties.

Andrew Turpin, of Poppleton & Appleby, which has offices in Birmingham and Stourbridge, has been instructed to commence the liquidation process for Ma-Shell (Motor Cycles).

Trading ceased at the close of business on Thursday following which the premises were secured.

Streetbike had started out in King Street, Dudley in 1984 and later moved to Mucklow Hill, Halesowen.

It had been at its current site in a former Comet store since the start of 2015.

It became home to the Triumph Birmingham West dealership in 2018 and also sold Yamaha and Suzuki motorcycles.

The liquidators said the firm had taken the difficult decision to cease trading, following a downturn in business due to the cost-of-living crisis, which was also compounded in a slow take up of the investment which the business made into electric motorcycles.

Mr Turpin commented: “Regrettably, the firm is unable to continue trading in the current climate, we are currently working with the company to obtain a clearer picture of the financial position.”

An unnamed director of Streetbike commented “We would like to thank all of our customers over the last 45 years of trading and apologies for the stress that this seems to have caused. This decision has followed a difficult period of trading and was not taken lightly."
