Streetguard 3 (3 not 2) Turning Brown

There have been plenty of posts about the Streetguard 2 problem of panels fading/turning brown. However I purchased a 3 in May 09 and it is now looking decidedly brown on the arms and all across the back, also to a lesser extent on the knees. Before I go to my dealer, is this also a known problem? Has any one else had the same problem?

If you are not happy with the product you could allways write to BMW customer service with a complaint but I am sure if you see Jim at Southport he will be very helpfull.

I think every piece of Cordura clothing with the IR resistant coating that I've ever seen has done this.

Mine has.....................doesn't bothered me................looks like funky tie-die

As long as the jacket is waterproof ( it was last night in a torrential downpour for an hour commute).................that'll do for me

I've got a Rukka Armadillo suit.

The jacket is starting to turn brown (sort of sun bleached Beetroot colour).

The trousers are fine.

So it's not just BMW that has the problem.

I’ve had this problem too. Not impressed as the suit cost £900.
I spoke with Customer Services yesterday who instructed me to go to any dealer for them to have a look.
Will report back what happens and would appreciate to know if anyone else has had a result.

I was told by a uk rukka dealer that there was a problem with a batch of material turning brown, my trousers did this and I contacted bikerland.de whom I bought them from and they exchanged them for a new pair without bating an eyelid, trousers were 3 years old!!

As the armadilo trousers were no longer available they sent me armas instead which I am very happy with.

last time i had my jacket on in heavy raid i got wet
this was the streetguard 3 that i got to replace my faded streetguard 2 (which never leaked)
going to try to find some rain and give the jacket 1 last chance in case i had zips not fastened or something stupid before i bring it back
the warranty only runs from the day you pay for the jacket so i have been told i have no warranty on this jacket as i got it at the end of the waranty period on the old jacket (is this right)

Interesting, I wear the streetgurd 3 year round, in all weathers, and mine has been fine and non-leaky in heavy rain....

I returned my Streetguard 3 to my local dealer (Riders of Cardiff) and the suit has been replaced under warranty
I hope this one doesn’t fade.
