Need a new suit and seriously considering the streetguard 3. How much are they selling for in the UK? Are they even available yet?

Anyone know how do they compare to the streetguard 2?

A text from Kearys in Cork during the week said that they had the new Streetguard and Rallye 3 clothing now in stock :nenau

Streetguard 3 jacket retails at £525, but there are still supplies of the Streetguard 2 left in dealers and they are knocking them out at about £100 below list, so in the region of £380.

Biggest difference between 2 and 3 is the change from Gore-tex to a c-change material which I think is the same as the material used in the Comfort Shell kit.

My G/F has the confort Shell, I had the streetguard 2. After 30,000 miles mine started to leak - BMW couldn't confirm the leak so wouldn't replace it :-( Prior to that, the kit was excellent - comfy, warm and good pretty much year round.

The new material is supposed to be more breathable - I don't know myself, but my g/f has been pretty impressed with the Comfort Shell.

vireo - As for there being a Rallye 3, I think your friend is mistaken :rob

Not tried the Streetguard 3 suit myself but it appears an expensive option if you pay full price. I have used the Streetguard 1 & 2 for 10's of thousands of miles and found them to be excellent.

If you know your BMW sizes there are some very good buys out there at the moment for Streetguard 2 suits if you are prepared to phone around BMW dealers.

Williams in Manchester recently posted me a pair of new Streetguard 2 trousers (treating myself) for £230 which is a decent saving on their new price and considerably less than the price of the Streetguard 3. CW also selling Streetguard 2 and the superseded Santiago gear (which may suit the GS better) for decent prices.

Hi
I just bought a Streetguard 3 jacket 2 weeks ago from Motorrad Central in Glasgow.

After having considered various options for over a year I had decided to buy a Streetguard 2 which was reduced, or a new Trailguard but after trying all the BMW jackets I liked the look of the SG3 best, the SG2 they had in my size was decidedly secondhand looking and they had no Goretex liners for the Trailguard, the Rallye was the most comfortable and seemed almost a bargain but I could not get along with the looks.

So in a moment of madness I purchased my single most expensive item of gear in my 30 years of biking, £520 !!!

The new SG3 fabric is much stiffer than that used for the SG2 and has taken quite a bit of breaking in but it is at last starting to mold to my shape,it was definitely not instantly comfortable to put on like the SG2,Trailguard or Rallye.

I personally like the understated (black) look with just a small BMW logo on the side the jacket is very well made and does feel, unlike any other fabric jacket I have ever worn, like it would offer decent protection in an off.

Only time will tell if it was worth the money!

All the detail are in this the most Gay thread ever as nominated by a FEB;) As has been said the material is a change from Goretex and if anywhere near as good as the Streetguard 2 will be an excellent suit. I'm hankering after the Trailguard and as my bonus just came through I may well take the plunge:thumb

You definately need a new suit with the new bike and if I may suggets you keep it in the kitchen too:rolleyes:

After reading this thread I was wondering if a heated jacket could 'confuse' the c_change material causing it to 'open up' letting the warm air flow out!?!?

Or am I being really stupid :)

Hi scooter boy, can you tell me how you are getting on with the streetguard 3 jacket.

thanks
