Me again.

Up to last week the GPS worked fine. Now it either takes a long time to calculate or recalculate routes and sometimes doesn't do it period. As for finding other services it cannot perform these functions at all.

I had a similar problem with mine. Installed maps of Spain and looked forward to trouble free routing. Soon as we got off the ferry in Santander it threw a wobbler and spent the next hour repeating 'Off route, recalculating' even though we were going the right way, on the right road.

It was linked in to my Autocom so eventually I tried it without voice, and it worked fine (link wire removed). If anyone can shed any light on this I'd be grateful. Haven't tried it on voice in the UK since our return so I don't know if it's F**&^d.
 
Thanks for that John:thumb :thumb Tried it and the unit worked fine:thumb :thumb for the first journey. On the second journey its reverted to its original problem:mad: :mad: coming up with "Recalculation Error. Not enough memory". So I'm off back to Garmin to see if they can come up with another suggestion before sending it back to them.:rolleyes: :rolleyes:
 
Just installed the version 2.8 software as well today as an upgrade to the loaded 2.7 , Have now to download UK Maps back onto the datacard before trying it so I've no idea if it works yet. So my thanks for the link also. Edit: Just loaded all my mapsource onto a new computer. Had version 6 with a version 8 update, and when I go to the maps to create a mapset, the version 8 is locked. Even after entering the unlock code and getting the 'unlocked successfully' prompt, it still shows locked, although the version 6 is unlocked and available for downloading. Is this normal, ie is it the original base version that gets unlocked with the updates simply attached as an add-on, or should v.8 show as unlocked?
 
Version 8 should show as unlocked, there must be some problem with your codes.
Phone Garmin, cost of the call will be far out weighed by the lack of hair pulling
and tear shedding, they can give you a new code specific to your unit over the
phone, and tell you how to do it. :o
