I've just got a nice new SPIII with Mapsource and Euro City Navigator v6 - great! :thumb

I can upload a load of maps onto the memory card and can happily view/autoroute etc. on the SPIII, BUT I can't upload any waypoints created in Mapsource (or routes for that matter). Also, I can't download any track/breadcrumb data to Mapsource from the memory card...

Anyone had a similar problem and fixed it? What could I be doing wrong??

Thanks for any help,
cocciag

i should really have a word with myself...

Greg,

That'll teach me not the RTFM.

I'm having a similar problem.

I recorded a track on my old III plus, downloaded it and transfered it to the mapsoure for the SPIII and then tried to transfer the track to the SP III.

Alls going well, the computer says transfer completed as does the gps screen. BUT theres no sign of the track!

I am using the serial port, the USB only seems able to transfer maps.

Flippin thing.

meat who

I'm having problems upgrading my garminV to mapsource v6.
No road detail for some reason also a problem withhardware upgrade software, which now zooms back out to show the whole of the country I'm riding thru after the auto zoom junction thing has done it's tricks.

What was that someone said, "if it's not broke..."

I have ticked the box 'Display track on GPS' in Track Properties!

It may be that although I can get the map up in mapsource the data is incompatable with the SP III, ? ?

For instance I do not have the option to 'Show Profile'

Flippin friggin thing

Tim:

Everything you want to do can be done.

MapSource has changed quite a bit in the last few years, the program is now more powerful than it once was and has a number of new features. It could be that the MapSource manual you have that came with your GPSR is out of date.

You can download the most recent (December 2003) version of the manual for the MapSource program from Garmin, free of charge. It is in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. I really do recommend you download it and read it, you will be quite surprised by all the additions made.

You can get it here: MapSource User Manual, Revision C, December 2003

Garmin has also produced a video tutorial that explains how to use the features of the MapSource program. This is a free, downloadable file, you can get it at this URL: MapSource Tutorial
