Just looking though the posts as one does on a sunday with nothing on the box and thought I know will set up my Garmin 2610. Well wish I just got maps first was told by computer there is an up date so two hours later and it's done. (yes I do have bb) Now after afew words with the mrs;s she;s pissed off out and left me to it. In short the f------ thing will not find a sat Yes I have down loaded the maps. Still take it to work with me sit in the car and play with it all day, Come home and tell the mrs;s what a hard day at the office it was. See if that helps, That is if any of you chaps knows what i'am doing wrong. And why does it show the USA each time I turn it on ?.:potkettle :monkeypiz :Motomartin

I think you will find that it will take a while to sort its self out
as it still thinks its in USA, Switch it on l leave it it will sort its self out

well that's how I did my one anyhow

That's what i did with mine. The SPIII took about 20 minutes, because it thought it was on the other side of the world. From memory, the 2610 only took about 2 minutes. Find a large car park (ie plenty of view of the sky) switch it on and leave it alone while the ? flashes away. I know it feels like ages when you're just sat there watching it, so take a flask / CD / book. :thumb

All's well. well nearly the GPS is now working was setting in doors in computer room how could it see the sky and look for satellites. On the down side the wife,s back she's got here own GPS and waypoint o well.
