nice project.

Put rudiemoto in there, sign above the door and we have a replacement for Bill Heads in Preston!

Lovely garage, but if it were mine I'd have to have more windows. I realise you are probably thinking Security

Bill Heads - That's a blast from the past...

certainly is...I went to my local mechanic (John Carr - Garstang) and he is the custodian of Bill Heads race bike. Its in the corner of his workshop looking sorry for itself due to non use. I think he was a mechanic at Bill Heads before he went private.

I think he was a mechanic at Bill Heads before he went private.

He was, he was at the Longridge shop too....

He was the spanner man for Alan Jackson who did rather well on that bike....used to stay at the same hotel in the IOM...happy days...:thumb

Hi Mike, its going slowly in relative terms, however, I have just ordered The window and garage door, these items will be delivered in approx 10 days.
If you look at the piccys posted you will see there is grass growing inside. since then I have had the base laid (These Polish Workers seem to build differently)

Glad you and dD had a good holiday,:beerjug: hope to bump into you Guys soon before the winter sets in :blast

Best regards Stretch :)

Answer to Tims PM for Parish Info

QUOTE=Tinytim]Hello. I'm new on here so you must be gentle!

Just seen your garage thread...love the pic.

May I pick your brain on the subject.

Your garage position is about the same as I have now with a bloody old pre-fab concrete garage and leaking flat asbestos roof. I want to replace it with something that just happens to be exactly like the one your building.

Can you tell me please..Did you have a problem with the height of your roof as it's close to your neighbours by the looks of it? I've been worried about that as over a certain height the garage has to be 5 mtrs away from the boundary so I'm told.

What are the dimensions please?

What size are the footings?

What did you do for plans?

Did you build it yourself?

I had a quote off a builder I know ooh. last year I think...16 grand to remove my garage and replace with a garage like yours. No idea if that is good or bad.

A lot of work I could do myself too.

Any tips and info I would greatly appreciate as I am sick and tired of being too hot in the Summer and too bloody cold working in a damp garage in the Winter....

Thanks for reading..Hope I aint pestering you !

Now get that door fitted ASAP...then the carpet can go down

;)

Tim ( Sheffield)[/QUOTE]

Hi Tim Width is 6520mm length 7020mm I came to this odd size because its as big as I can get it width wise and still get access to behind the garage, from both sides and also maintain it from my own garden,I did not consider anything else re planning Permission.
Height is 4100 mm to top of eaves, again this came about due to the width and drop required for the tiles.
Also due to width I have three I beam girders to hold the roof up, as wood would not have achieved the stress requirements.

Once I'd decided on size I got it drawn up, then applied for planning permission.

My next door neighbor is a Polish builder and his men did all the work.

If ya can get an English builder to build one for 16K bite his hand off :D:D

Best regards Stretch :beerjug:
