Just done this for a customer - it was scratched and scraped at the end - so cut off about 6" and riped out the internals - so it should now be as loud as a Remus :bounce1

I have also done this to my 1150 :D

Nice.
I had my stock can gutted (not totally gutted though). The sound is much better, and it's a feck site cheaper than buying a new can.

I'm glad I didn't have it shortened though, as it would heat the panniers too much, although mine is NOT the adventure.

The trouble with loud cans is they get annoying, I test rode a 2010 GSA while my 2006 GS was in for a service. Exhaust sounded great for the first 5 mins, loved blipping that throttle. But once novelty wore off, it just became an annoying drone at standard 80/90 cruise speed!

After 3 hours on that, jumped straight onto my bike, was bliss! Could cruise at speed without the droan!

Give it another couple of days though, and you filter it out, and can't hear it!
