suede seat cover

anybody put a suede /alcantara on there seat ,saw a 950 ktm with that set up ,it looked good (which is reason enough) .
i think the africa twin had a similar set up on earlier bikes .
im looking for a goos seat upholsterer,any recommendations ,from experience

No, but back in the '70's I had a moustache, a leisure suit, silk shirts, and suede boots.
That kit got me some pretty comfortable "rides", but standards were lower and tastes were more simple back then. I'd be afraid of animal rights activists, today. The world has become much more difficult.

The 990 has it as standard fitment now, its either that or an aftermarket renzaco seat

Had some work done on a couple of seats by these , http://www.chaoscustom.co.uk/Chaos_Custom_29-07/Home.html , while i was there noticed Si Pavey's seat was being recovered ready for Dakar , also seen a few others they have done similar and they look and feel fantastic, much cheaper than elsewhere i have seen, on my list of things to do next

i think ,i might have a black panel fitted to my seat ,as it will look good .
and thats reason enough

DONT DO IT, i have a 990 dakar with the alcantara seat - its shit!

it absorbs liquid like a hookers knickers and takes just as long to dry (2 hrs in full italian summer sun if you were wondering)

it also stretches and results in little loops of material.

however if anyone wants to swap a 990 dakar seat for an ero gel seat let me know!
