Suggestions please

I've got a couple of friends visiting from USA in the summer, there's a couple of days free in their itinerary and was wondering if anyone has any good routes/mapsource files for a day ride or two. We don't really know Wales that well, to our shame, we're based in Telford so getting into North Wales is no problem. They'll be on hired street bikes, so off road is not really a possibility.

Telford looks perfectly placed for access to Mid and North Wales, what sort of roads are you looking for bearing in mind your US guests will be (hopefully) driving on the correct side of the road and using hired road bikes.

If the weather is good would recommend a ride across to Aberaeron for some chips followed by honey ice cream at the harbour. Then up the coast to Aberystwyth and back through Mach-Welshpool etc.

Generally speaking just make it up as you go along their all good road.

PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you something this week. Over the last year or so, I have kept a record of the roads I have enjoyed, but so far they are all in South / Mid Wales. A group of us will be taking the bikes to North Wales for 3 days in early June, so no doubt will collect some more then. Bump this again, before your friends come over - just as a reminder.

One that springs to mind straight away is the road from Devils Bridge to Aberystwyth - cracking road, amazing views and easily achievable from Telford.

Quite a few of us regularly make use of some of the best roads/scenery in the Mid/North Wales area, all year round, all weather. Some of us are even lucky enough to be able to ride weekdays too. I'm sure that when you Bump this nearer the time you will be spoiled for choice of Guides.
