Summer BBQ

How sad is that? Go away for a weekend and watch the tele FFS

Well the alternatives are:

1. stay at home and not support the event :nono

2. come to the event and do a 'likely lads', i.e. try not to find out what the score is before I get home  fat chance I think

3. bugger off to Germany on the GS and watch it live :mmmm too pricey!

4. come to the event and support the group but take out 2 hrs to enjoy something that is clearly pretty important to a large proportion of the population and especially to me :beerjug:

Whaddya reckon :dabone

Latest Update

This is from the manager at the Fish:-

Alan

Reference our conversation of yesterday, I can confirm that we can allow 4 man tents only at £10.00 a night. 10 in total. If you would like us to supply you with food for barbecue it will be £5 per head or a pig roast at £10 per head. Please let me know what you would like to do regards food. If you prefer to barbecue yourself, no problem.

Any other queries do not hesitate to call.

Rebekah Ashley
Manager

So then gang, what do we want to do, BBQ or pig roast?

Do we want to get a live band in or not?

Now the next thing is that I am going to need some idea of numbers to allow for catering etc.

So if you are interested in coming along then please express your interest on here. :thumb

One other note, the Fish & Anchor is now a smoking free pub :bow

Thoughts anyone?

BTBR

PS
It is not intended as a major event, so dont expect raffles, free drinks, maques, trade stands etc etc. It is just a get together in a field for a bunch of tossers.

I would also like to think that we could even make a small profit from the event that I would like to give to the local air ambulance. But as long as we dont make a loss I'm happy.

Alan, I shall be on my way back from a blast around the Alps that weekend so won't be able to come.Bugger.Am glad the pub is non smoking,it was much better last night. It was a surprise as the landlord and landlady are such heavy smokers. :clap

So if it was a Wales v England rugby world cup final on the Hogroast weekend, you wouldn't watch it then? :D :D

My two pence

For what it's worth here is my opinion :soapbox: :

Let's have a BBQ - keep the costs down, and anyway there are enough pig raosts this year :thumb

Let's have a band - we need something as a focus for the evening and it covers up the slurring later in the evening :drums :guitarist :friday

I'm on hols the first weekend in June but I've PM'd you about running a ride out on the 10th :reynolds - for which I will obviously be demanding a medal :D

Let's call it the KISS rally

Yes Please

Got nothing specific on in June so count me and the SWMBO in. Whats the story on 4 man tents only, we have a large 3 man tent so is that a 'no' or are we expected to share!!! Happy to go with the majority on the food front but do like pig roasts.

Cheers :beerjug:

I don't think you've even got a bike :dabone

Only big trailie ballbag rider had an excuse not to be on a bike last night, cus he ain't feckin got one :bounce1

So, the manager, was that the girl with the star trek hair style?

Dirty dog
You accidentally dropped in on the west mids gs sewing circle( it was murder sitting in those half finished quilts all night so you didnt see them). You can't carry a full size quilt properly on a gs without HUGE ali panniers. :D

Haven't you seen the rota? It was my turn last month.

They are waiting for the good weather before they rota on a 1200 so they don't have to wait at the raodside in the pouring rain for the rescue truck :D

I know you ain't jokin either, as Mutley DROVE off up the road in his BEEMER, I did notice a tartan corner hanging from the boot :ymca

If any of you Queens are about on Sunday morning this week, I'm gonna have a blast over to the Elan dams, try pullin out the chocks and dust sheets and make an effort. This Midlands/Worcs possy is pretty piss poor :pissl

That Mutley is a b%$£^&d .He told me he hadn't seen my tartan cushion covers :D
Can't make it saturday, got to stay in and water my frogs.
As for piss poor young man, I resemble that remark :)

My excuse was that as I've started servicing my bike myself, the bugger's still in bits as I haven't finished it yet. Also, came straight from a meeting in Essex, all the way to evesham for a pint of coke and some scoff, then home to Northampton.Must be mad. :bounce1

I rekon the tents thing is max 10 tents. If we want 40 people, then they must be 4 man tents. :nenau

Marcus.
