Saturday 28 May was bright and fine so a run through North Wales seemed a good idea.
I headed off across the Widnes/Runcorn bridge and joined the M56 with the thousands of other motorists heading for the Coast. I branched off down the M56 and then down the A483 as far as Chirk to join, thankfully, peaceful traffic free roads.
A quick look at Chirk Marina

then past the gates to Chirk Castle

and past Chirk Aqueduct

before heading down the glorious Ceiriog Valley

through the village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog and over the hills

down into Llanrhaeadr-Ym-Mochnant.
From there it is a great 20 mile run to Lake Vyrnwy

around the South side of the Lake today

before joining one of my favourite roads from the west end of Vyrnwy across to Bala

By then it was time for a comfort break by the lake in Bala. I was the only bike there for about 5 minutes then lots more arrived, all enjoying the summer's day.

From Bala I headed across to Cerrigydrudion, up past Lynn Brenig to the A543 Denbigh Moors road.
I turned left and then took the single track road past Lynn Aled Reservoir

and the Aled Isaf Reservoir

down into the village of Llansannan.
From there it was Denbigh - quick stop at Sam's Cafe - then Mold, Queensferry, up through the Wirral, Mersey Tunnel and home.
Another day they can't take away from me!
