I signed up to this last week ahead of my holiday. To be honest it’s been a nightmare as I getting blocked by many sites including comparison sites, insurance companies online portals and even the Jet2.com app that made getting our boarding passes rather stressful as I’d been advised their systems were down, but again it turned out to be the VPN

I had location as either Manchester or London

Any ideas?

Interesting, as I've used it for 12 months or more without issues but over the past week or so I find that I'm being forced to compete gotchas on what seems a random basis, even sometimes for google. I switch around locations but I guess it often defaults to the UK. Might try testing different countries.

I’m in Spain right now and couldn’t complete car insurance renewal. Went to the free Kiwi VPN app I have installed and it worked straight away.

Not best pleased thus far, but prepared to accept it still could be me

Was abroad last month and my BT Email stopped working.

Could not get it to reset until home - of course all the travel arrangements were via that email :blast

That was Nord so quite a popular VPN - I think BT refuses if lots of people are trying to log-in via the same ISP (one of Nord's proxies).

That rules out me switching to them then! I’ve cancelled Surfshark.

Sites like iPlayer etc. often blacklist the blocks of IP addressees used by VPN services. happens to all of them.

I tried SurfShark last summer to allow access to player etc whilst travelling. Very hit and miss which sites would allow access if you set your country to UK
* iPlayer never worked
* Netflix worked about 40% of the time
Most sites which were a bit less location sensitive would throw up odd quirks/errors. Stena line booking site always insisted I was in France, even though I tried to set location to UK and to Ireland, where I actually was.

I asked for my money back, which they were reluctant to give......
