Hi folks

I’m new here but had my GS 1250 for a couple of years. After the battery going and the bikes being off for the winter, it’s in limp home mode and has a bunch of errors.

Limp home is the throttle - I’ve got some work to do there, but there is also one about the suspension, which sounds bad but doesn’t trigger the warning light (apparently)

This is the error:

Fault Code Value : 0x480B85
Fault Code Description : Failsafe Level 3: reduced SAF-System
Currently present : YES
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) : NO
Frequency count : 1

Sounds pretty awful, but I’m struggling to find info on it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
John

The battery might not have enough voltage to set the pre load ? . A new battery should solve it IMHO

When my battery went it threw up a ton of error codes...all because of the battery

I cleared them with a GS911 and all went away (after replacing the battery)

When the battery goes on these things it causes chaos

Thanks, but I've already tried that - brand new battery and full reset of every ECU with my GS911. I'm going to swap in a borrowed throttle tomorrow and fingers crossed that resolves the limp home mode, and I'm wondering now whether it just needs a ride out to fully reset after the battery?

hmph .. just seen that https://bmwfault.codes/ doesn't recognise this code at all; maybe that, plus it doesn't turn on the MIL, means its not important...I'll find out when I next have to brake hard I guess 😉
