These are great bikes all round, handle, brake and go really well single or two up and keep going. Smoother than the age equivalent BM and more reliable by far. Worth the money easy.

Had a 2014 Vstrom set up the same as yours with Givi panniers. Amongst other trips it did two tours of the south of France two up, averaged 70 mpg and could cruise fully loaded at 100 mph. Good legroom for a pillion-you can’t say that very often with modern so called tourers. Handled great and ran faultlessly. These are bikes you can buy with confidence that they’ll meet your needs and not let you down.

Could not agree more I run this last year along with a gs1300 and spent more time on the v strom more comfort more reliable £100 insurance most underrated bike out there

I'm not surprised. These seem to be as close to a do-it-all bike as possible, plus it has an engaging V twin engine so will come with a bit of character. Decent price too, very little to dislike.

That is a huge amount of bike for peanuts. I love my 650 V-strom. It loses out nothing to the 1150GSA that it replaced, other than about 90kgs!

It replaced a totally useless 21 grand gs1300 more reliable more comfort
Frugal cheap to insure albeit a bit less bhp but will tour two up with ease
