SW Motech Crash Bars & alli head covers

As per the title, can you answer this simple question.

I have the BMW alluminun head covers fitted on a 1200 gs.
Will the Sw motech Crash Bars fit, or will they snag?

I have only ever seen the Motech bars fitted over the top of the plastic head protectors and then their isnt too much room to spare.

Hmm Kind of would like to know the same info but against the H&B bars - anyone using this combo?

Not using the combo, but you are welcome to come round and try the H&B bars assuming you already have the head guards.

Would you need both ?

You have me thinking now as I have just ordered my Motech engine bars and didnt think I would need the head guards too

I asked at my dealers reguarding engine guards and he said he would never recommend the metal guards alone as should the worst happen then their is little or no flex in them and any damage will find its way to the weakest point which is the mounting screws and can / will damage the threads and head where it is mounted.

Just had an e-mail back from Nippy Normans, saying the bars should fit, but never had that combination before.

I think i'll give it a go. The worst that can happen ids they'll be in the for sale section next week

Would you need both ?

To be honest not sure - it might depend on whether or not the drop is on road or off road or whether or not the bike starts to roll over slightly as it goes down

I hadn't thought about adding both until someone I spoke to whilst our riding suggested getting some head guards to go with the bars.

Have both fitted, bought head gaurds with bike when new and later decided wanted bars to fit spots and simply like the look of em. Bit tight but they do fit.
