Hi
I am looking at purchasing a set of spots on my 2014 LC-TE.
Has anyone fitted any of the above?
Are they easy to install?----I was looking at possibly fitting them on the SW mounting plates from Nippy Norms

Thanks

Yup - fitted SW Motech Hawk using the Nippy fitting kit. Very very easy to fit. Make sure you keep the electronics well away from water - or coat heavily in ACF-50. My relay got corroded and burnt out - and its quite hard to find a direct replacement online!

Hi
I am looking at splicing into the accessory plug wires to power LED lights. I note there are 2 wires, one is brown and the other red / green. Am I correct in thinking the brown is earth ?

Cheers

Apparently in the LHS of the cockpit tucked away there is a free connector (used for the factory fit LED spots) that once enable by your dealer allows you to power your LED spots from this, I have just bought some cheap Cree spots (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00K5NI0X6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00) which once I find a suitable cheap connector ( 63 17 7 723 139 ) I will give it a try but at £17 + £7pnp I will have a look around!, I am sure I saw somewhere that this connector is used on other bikes but as yet I have had no luck.

Hi
I bought and fitted a pair of cree Led,s thanks...very pleased. Fitted relay with switching live from ancillary socket

I have a set of Cree spot lights, 10w each and very bright. £20 off ebay including p&p, lovely items, cast in aluminium with stainless fittings. With a bit of work on the fixing brackets they bolted to an existing genuine BMW fog light bracket I had. £1.70 switch from ebay wired to the accessory socket and Im sorted. I have not fitted a relay, they only draw 1.66A so are well within the supply limit and the system fuse will protect the circuit.
Apart from having no CE mark these lights are every bit as good as the £200+ devices from Denali, not to mention the £400+ for the BMW kit.

Do you have the eBay number for the ones you bought as there's loads?

Just fitted a set of the Cree lights in black to my wife's 650 Gs twin, got a handlebar switch for £12.90 off Amazon and wired then via a fuse into the headlamp dip circuit. Liked them so also fitted a pair to my GSA low down on the crash bars, fitted a relay because the canbus system kept switching both them and the headlamp off. Works great.
They were that cheap that I bought a 5th as a spare to keep on the shelf just in case.

The spots were : 30W CREE U2 LED Spot Fog Lamp Light Motorcycle Car Truck Waterproof

Also shown as Coolpanda.
The spots took a few weeks and they also do them in shiny silver but I got the black ones.

2X 2.2" Round Cree LED Work Lights Spot Driving Lamp Foglight Motorcycle 10W UK - eBay item number-281570886003.
Nice lights but so bright, this may be a problem and I may need to dim them a little using diodes. 20w LED will be far too bright.

Here are the same lights but from a different seller. EBay item number 121473310122 they have a very nice solid glass magnifying lens. Come in silver or black. Have 3 settings, very bright, not so bright and flashing. The three modes activate simply by switching them off and straight back on again.
