Thinking of buying sw motech locking tank bag for the 1200 GS don't need something to big just for nick knacks phone, money passport etc, anyone got one what are the like are they a pain when refuelling or do they scratch the tank, any pictures any thoughts appreciated.

If you are talking about the tank bags that attach to a ring that you fit on top of the fuel filler cap, I have had one for 3 years. Easy to use, does not scratch the tank. Easy to fit and remove when re fuelling or when leaving the bike for a coffee stop. Good product, got mine from Sam at Chainspeed.

Thanks for the reply n1rat can you tell me are they waterproof or just splash proof. Also do you know if you can use the ring on the rack at the back of the bike instead of tank only?

I've had one on my GS for some time now. Very easy to fit and doesn't scratch the tank. The bag is splashproof and has resisted rain, but comes with a raincover - which I haven't used yet. Great piece of kit.

They are good, fast to take off and put back on when re fuelling, not waterproof but come with a waterproof cover. I have an as new GS Evo bag, hardly used yours for £90 posted. You will need to order the correct tank ring for your bike.

You need the evo ring for my bag and the right one can be found here

Gundog I'm looking for something a bit smaller but does the handlebar hit the bag when turning?
