Hi, I have a factory low R1200GS 2012. I can't live with the standard seat any longer, Its an instrument of torture.:(

Are the seats interchangeable between the Adventure, GS and GS Factory low. If anyone can answer this it might prevent me making an expensive error sourcing a used sergeant seat or similar.
I have wondered if a standard BMW seat might be better than the factory low BMW seat. I will probably be okay with a slight increase in height.

Thanks for any advice.

I got a sergeant from here, never looked back, the low seat killed me off after 150 miles but sergant have done 400+ in a day no trouble!

About come to the same conclusion myself

Been thinking of trying an adventure seat

Might try and borrow one and see how it feels

I struggle way before 150 miles. I recon at 25 I am starting to squirm around due to discomfort. At 150 miles even with a lengthy stop I've had enough.
Also need to fit bar risers (to bring them back rather than up) as getting back ache.

if you haven't already check that your standard risers haven been turned to to forward position, if they have turning them back could fix this free of charge

I went the other way, needed to move them forward, and turning the risers round was enough for me

Another vote for Sargent, I have the standard height on my GSA which is both lower and narrower.

It is also very firm which feels weird at first, but support is what you need.

You can also add an air hawk pad or sheepskin for comfort.

I had he same trouble with my 1150, brought a Corbin and never looked back. When I downgraded to a 1200 brought a second hand Corbin from here and never looked back. Only word of caution these are wider than std so if your a bit short in the leg try before you by.

Not sure about the low seat but on my tc gsa a standard gs seat was much better than the gsa seat
