System 6 helmet too big for pannier

My new System 6 helmet is an extremely tight fit in the right hand System pannier of my 1150GS. The Series 5 I had before went in easily, but the new helmet, with the flip up mechanism is just a smidge too wide to go in comfortably. You can force it, but I only did that once and did not fancy busting the lid bottom hinge or damaging the helmet. Motorworks do an enlarged pannier lid that I think should solve the problem, but that is over £80. Anyone with a cheaper solution?

I have the same problem, but haven't got a solution. Can you give me a link to the motorworks item? I might just try one and see if it helps.

Just go to the Motorworks website and type Global Lid in the search panel

BTW the global lids are huuuuggggeeee and increase the width of your bike a lot.

I had a sys 6 and it would just fit in a vario back box if thats any help
