Hi, I'm thinking about getting a System 6 helmet. Noise levels are important to me, has anyone an idea on how these compare to other lids. I do prefer open face helmets so may just have to take whatever it is...

ta,

John

I have a system 6 and find it quite noisy :blast

With my K1300S I HAD to wear earplugs even on short trips.

With the GS and Givi aeroflow screen (and much lower speeds:eek:) I can get away without the earplugs.

If I were you I would look at the Schuberth C3. My wife has one and IMHO is a far nicer helmet - just look at the difference in design features :thumb

It's the noiseist helmet I ever had louder than arai rx7rr also the air inlet came adrift while riding I replaced 3 and then did not bother the last straw came when the visor mounting broke it's in the bin. In fairness it's the most comfy I ever wore and the fastener system is good but it's loud GSA rt and old r100/7 f800st did not matter what I was on. I bought it because I thought it would be quiet.! The noise i can put up with, its the visor pissing on my face when it rains that gets to me.....

Anyone know if it can be adjusted? it leaks along the top edge, and yes, i have ensured the visor is 'clicked' shut :(

Compared to a non-flip-front, it's noisy. It doesn't seem any more noisy than any of its predecessors.

That said, I don't even pop out to the local shops without ear-plugs and decent ones make it perfectly okay.

Mine is nearly two years old and in really heavy rain I do get an occasional trickle of rain down the inside of the visor. I've never owned a full-face helmet that didn't suffer in the same way so I'm pretty much resolved to that.

I did have an issue two weeks ago when it locked me out. The chin bar wouldn't come down. One of the hinges seemed to have come adrift. I took in to my local dealer (Ocean-Plymouth) and it was fixed by replacing the hinge mechanisms with an updated version (under warranty). Dealers have a bar-code that shows whether the helmet has the updated hinges or not and as many have been in stock for a while how recently it was purchased is not necessarily any guarantee that the updated hinge is fitted.
