System restore for a notebook with no disc drive

Ok numpty question
I have a problem with a sony notebook it needs a system restore but it asks for back up discs which I don't have due to it having no fecking disk drive anyone have a clue as where to start please
Oh and btw sony web site does not recognise the fecking model number

I don't know.

But go through the Start menu and look at all the Sony programs listed there could well be a system restore available from your existing hard drive.

With Acer netbook that is how it was in any case
