Went to wales this weekend to have a look how my new Heidi's behave off-road:D
J took me to some of the local tracks, easy one's, he said:rolleyes:
He was on racing tourances compare to my heidi's. Now i have no off-road expierience to speak of so that was a bit of a learning curve for me

We started with some easy stuff

J was saying the might be getting a bit harder:eek:

So we had deeper puddles, bigger rocks and more slipperererery grass sections

after 4 hours or so i told him a had enough now as my whole body was hurting and i noticed my concentration was going.
So J says,no problem, the last one is just a short one and only the beginning is a "BIT" tricky:blagblah:blagblah

Of course he lied:rolleyes::eek:

It started with a steep'ish climb over large rocks.I managed the first 20-30 m but then got stuck:mmmm
Oh and make sure when you go off-roading you know how to switch the traction controll and the ABS off:rolleyes:

As i am no riding god and know when i reached my limits i did ask J to ride my bike up:tears

J said then that the worst was over now he just forgot to mention the "Special stage" at the end

Cause uphill in the mud is to easy somebody decided to put 2 logs across the road just before the gate:eek:

So we had to manhandle the 2 GSA's over them one by one.
Oh and J did not drop his GSA,cause he could not get the side stand down he just rested her like that:cool:

I must say the Heidi's where brill in the off-road stuff, good on the motorway over to wales:clap:clap
If they last long enough that is what i will be using in the future

Oh and a special mention for Rugged Roads:thumb
Their stuff worked brilliant
Have a look at the difference between the RR heavy duty bashplate and crud catcher and the normal BMW bashplate

good report pete looks like J put you and your bike through the mill:D:D

it was good to hear that our prototype 1200 sumpguard handled the bashing as required:cool::cool: i had better get it finalised and into production:D:D

Looks like fun!

Can I ask... Where'd you get your Heidi's, or did you get some before the supply chain ran dry?

Cheers,
David.

I got 8,000 miles from the rear Heidi but it was square and only had the shadow of a tread by the end.

Watch out for course "chipped" surfaces on high speed corners as the Heidis "move around" rather a lot.

I've been using the K60 Scout on the LGKS these past few days, and whereas in the dry there's not much to choose between it and the Tourances, in the wet / snow the Scouts really come into a league of their own. Probably saved my bacon on at least two occasions, now let's see if they last the journey home ...
