....thinking of trading my 04 gs12 for one, just for general hooning about, 250 mile days out and finding bumping little back roads...

As good or better than a GS?

:nenau

Awesome bikes from what I hear, seem to be quite rare as well.

The GS will be extremely bland in comparison, an ideal bike for your described use I would imagine.

Ridden a couple and would love one but my license wouldn't survive long - hooligan weapon and a shed load of fun:thumb

Awesome bit of kit, hooned around on my bruv in laws hard to keep your licence though...

sounds good ! :green gri

Was also thinking 1200 multistrada but read way too many horror stories and the service cost are stupid, so sacked that idea off...

I considered a Multistrada a while back and came to the same conclusion, at the time it would be to supplement the Super Tenere as a weekend toy and keep the S10 for touring, but then I just decided that buying a KTM 1190 would pretty much tick all the boxes.

The only downside I have found with the KTM so far is the chain, but that is not really so bad and taking into account the extra performance and lighter weight now seems a small price to pay.

Can't fault them and I wish KTM still made them or a very close equivalent. Where they score heavily over some of the competition is tyre choice because of their rim sizes so you can change tyres according to what you want to be using the bike for most.

They seem to hold their price really well, which tells you something about the demand for what's a discontinued bike.
