Hi Everyone,
Can anyone let me know of a good tank bag for the R1200GSA (07) that will fit with the crossbar?

Thanks!

Yep,
The standard BM one fits. The early ones didn't, but they brought out a MkII version which fits fine. Let me know you e-mail address and I can mail you piccy's of it fitted to my 07GSA

Thanks guys! Any idea of a part number as the BMW garage I use sometimes are a little backward... not mentioning any names! :augie

the oft repeated statement that the earlier, larger bag does not fit the GSA is something of a myth IME.

it was shown fitted to a GSA in the bmw publicity photos and does fit. i know, i have one + the later small tank bag.

it does touch the crossbar, but doesn't interfere with riding the bike, but is rather fiddly (ok, very fiddly) to fit the front hook under the VIN plate.

it carries way more than the small bag in unexpanded mode. expanding the small bag makes it get in the way of the rider, so it's horses for courses for me.

small bag has a much better shaped map pocket though.

The part number is here: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showpost.php?p=963635&postcount=25

but on here: http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/MainDiagrams.asp?mospid=49382 on diagram 0573 it has the same part number for pre and post 2006 bags :blast which would confirm what was said in the pst below. Might be worthwhile prinitng off a picture of what you'd like and ask the dealer to order it for you. If the wrong one turns up it's their fault as they ordered the wrong one ;)

Yeah good idea... maybe they will respond to pictures better!:D

bagster with alpha bag works fine with mine

Looks good, love to get a small bag though, both the Alpha and the BMW one are a little large for my needs. Basically only need to have a Kenwood radio in it and mobile phone... any other ideas?

I took the cross bar off. Unless your an off road type its doing nothing other than bling. Done 46,000 miles without it and the tank bag fits fine.:D

45,000 miles, on a GSA (which year?) - what do reckon the GSA will do (mileage) before it would need serious work on the engine?

2006 -

35,000 new final drive
42,000 rear disc :(
Told that front discs will have to change before 50,000:spitfire

Otherwise the engine is perfect and feels like it will go onto galactic miles:thumb2. It will have to as I can't afford another one until next year. It will have over 75,00 on it before I have finished with it and don't see why it won't get to over 100,00 without too much issue.

My last one (1150) I took to 125,000 miles and still going strong when I sold it.

Keep to the service rota and you won't go far wrong - clean oil and filters always.

How much was the final drive?

TT makes a small daytrip tankbag, got one myself a few months go, top pice of kit.

You know what, TT suck right now. Ordered a load of goods via their site, didn't receive an email to confirm the order (like every other site that sells products) so I emailed them a week after the order was placed to tell them that their customer service sucked.

I had an email back Day before yesterday saying one item was out of stock and they were waiting for that before they shipped, which would be sometime next week - so I emailed back and said I needed the items before Saturday so forget the item that they didn't have in stock and ship the others - seems straight forward to me...?

Anyway, today I get a voicemail from them saying "We are just about to despatch your order but need to confirm something about your Credit Card, could you call back, but not now as we are closed, call us Monday!" :spitfire

Well not being a big TT fan my self, mine however was delivered in no time from germany to Denmark in (less than 5 days)
And the small tank bag is still a good small tank bag for the 1200GSA.
But your expierence clearly sucks.
