Tank Bag GS v's GSA

[getting older]

Just changed bike from a GS to a new GSA (brilliant btw) But the method of fitting is slightly different! I assumed (in ignorance - obviously) they would be the same, but no. so how much for a GSA tank bag? £180.00!!!!!
anyone managed to convert the fixing to suit a GSA? (option 2, does anyone want to buy a GS tank bag!)

You don't say which bag or what year GSA.

If you have the big bag with the sticky patch and zipper job it will fit the GSA with a new sticky. The front hook will fit under the plate with the frame number on as usual. But you'll have to remove the strengthening bar across the grips whilst it's on. It won't fit otherwise as the bar fouls the bag. I've just done this on my '07 . No probs, except a bit of inconvenience. Huge bag...!

In my case the smaller one would probably have been fine but you know what these womens are for packing stuff...

The tank bag is the small BMW bag that has a zip fastening system, the GSA is brand new!

they do fit but its a real pain and the full lock wont work you will have to buy the smaller gsa one unless one comes up here for sale

I have the big bag fitted to my gsa with the handlebar brace.

Works fine..just don't fill it right up

I also have the big bag fitted to my 07 GSA and it fits fine with the bar and the padding on it,

How the devil do you manage that?

I shall have to have another go with the bar on. I've tried it before and it fouled.

You may have to open up the metal hook that fixes to the rear of the tank panel, but otherwise I can't see why the large bag won't fit your bike. It fitted both my GSAs - 07 & 11. With and without crossbar.
