Tank panels - wrapped

I hate the silver side panels. With that in mind, I ordered some wrap.

Nasty day out, and I had to work, so I did this after work. A little Carbon Fiber Wrap, sorry for those who do not like it. I started with the small piece to see if I could do it:

Not pro quality, but looks decent, so I did another:

Still not bad, so one more:

I'm totally satisfied. It isn't perfect, but definitely good enough.

Next, the big silver panels:

Hopefully tomorrow.

Not a bad job but did you use vinyl primer on the surface first? if you didn't it probably won't last long?

it really wouldn't have look better in orange ! haha

Great job, looks good!! Those side panels are a pain but achievable, I found the centre tank panel really tricky. Couldn't get the wrap into the crevasses either side of the petrol cap.

The side panels were a LOT harder, but I think they came out pretty good. The bike, to me, looks a hell of a lot better. I never liked the silver side panels!

I can't imagine the center panel would be as hard as the multiple compound curves of the side panels. :dunno:

The area at the front of the panel, where the bolt is, is really tricky, as are those two crevasses either side of the filler cap, but apparently if i had done it in a more expensive 3M wrap, it would likely have stretched into those areas. I used an air-release product which i thought was fine but didnt realise there were different grades of vinyl!

I got it done but it didn't last long
