tank range

Thinking of getting rid of the 12 Steve?!

I'm told you can get 200 miles from a 650, I guess that depends on how throttle happy you are really!!!!

Hows the 1100 dan is is fully tricked up yet?:D

Well........ Some kind soul decided to steal my 1100...... So I replaced it with an 1150, then the 1100 turned up underneath a railway arch not too far away from Williams BMW in Manchester. I have both bikes right now, the 1100 has not turned a wheel since it's return, but, I will be sorting the old girl out. I have the stuff I was going to use for the rebirth in the first place (I have fitted the Ohlins to my 1150).

One thing I had thought since my girlfriend bought her 650 is the 1100 could be sold/exchanged for anoher for me!!!!!!

F650 Tank Range

200 miles is about right for the range. I was getting about 220 miles on normal roads before the low fuel light came on, slightly less (about 200 miles) on motorway.

My tank took 12 litres if you filled up when the light came on. Tank capacity is 17 litres so 5 litres reserve should take you another 80 odd miles if you're feeling brave!

Now that I have got the long range tanks on fuel range is muuuuch more!:thumb

GS Tank Range

London to Edinburgh & back last year, fully loaded with Metal Mules & Tank Bag plus one Fat B*st*rd averaged 82mpg. Twin spark is about 10% better than the previous single spark model.

Fuel light came on at 190 miles, lost bottle at 252 miles & stopped to refill. Took 15.5 litres, so at least another 20 miles possible.

Comfy too, with a reprofiled seat & bar risers.

You got something wrong with your wrist?
I get about 165 until the light comes on, used to be 185 but I think familiarity has reduced that. I'm confident of reaching 200 but I'm not brave enough to stretch that. Maybe one day I'll strap a can on and find out what it'll really do.

I always spend a minute or so longer filling up to get as much fuel in as possible and I get around 200 miles out of a full tank for normal riding. For all motorway riding I usually get anything from 165 up. I've had 240 miles out of it once or twice!

Nothing wrong with my wrist Brass Monkey! The figures I quoted were for long distance touring riding, ie. spirited but not bansai on minor roads, and 70 on the motorway (anything above that chews the juice and buffet is a bit wearing).

When you are doing 400-600 miles a day I don't want to be riding around as though my arse is on fire!

Now short rides with no luggage....that's a different matter, and who cares what mileage you get then!

Anyway, fuel range is a thing of the past:

i get 140 till the light :augie

Reckon it'll go 200 to a full tank tho, if the calculations are correct. Worked out around 55 - 60mpg on the last fill up

Don't quite know why it's that low compared to you lot, i do a lot of town riding and don't rev the nuts off it too often. It's been like that from new so it can't be the exhaust or the air filter :nenau

I've gotten 187 out of my first tank. Only put one thru it before it started snowing.

I've had 240 out of a tank with another 20-odd worth of fuel left. Was probably averaging 60 that day.

Cruising at 85mph with a bit of luggage, light usually comes on at 155 miles.

It would be interesting to see how many miles I could get at 50mph but it's far too boring to find out!

120 miles till the light with the panniers on

It was the middle of summer, around 5am and on empty twisty roads tho, gps recorded 93mph max, dunno how that happened :nenau
