Tried a search for this but couldn't find anything offering direct advice so time to post a question for the gathered masses.

One of the "R1100GS" stickers on my tank is in need of replacement. I'm tempted to put something more interesting on there.

It currently looks like this:

and the tank stickers neither disappear (I considered matt black "GS" on the glossy black tank) nor stand out. I quite like the minimalist look of Pthag's tank stickers here, standard stickers trimmed down (Stolen from another thread) :

but I would welcome any suggestions from the more graphically oriented amongst us for what might be good.

Any idea of where to get hold of stickers would be useful too (especially if I can order them on the web).

If you want something more interesting, click on the shop link at the top of the page and have a look at the UKGSer.com stickers

:D Bryn

Cheap as well:beerjug:

I felt the same with mine, which I had to replace after having it re-spreyd.
So I opted for the same stickers but in Silver. So what you can see (as a lot of the writting is in glack still) is "1100GS" which I think looks quite nice.

I'f I remeber I take apic this weekend and post it so you can have a look.

Already have ordered two of them, on a kind of "Well, if nothing else comes along..." basis. They'd also go well with Bikergary's approach of silver standard stickers...

The stickers were from BMW, told they I wanted the 1100gs Tank Stickers in Silver.

OK Taken a quick pic, sorry for the quality, bit dark, but hopefully will give you the idea...
and before you ask yes it's a Touratech sticker under near the lettering, but that coming of, as it's a c**p sticker and is all ready coming off.....

Thank 'e kindly sir - looks like the way to go. When I finish bolting a few more bits on mine we better avoid parking close to each other or we'll ride off on the wrong bikes.

.... :D I doubt you will ever want to put the Top half of a TDM 850 screen to the top of your 1100 screen as an extra flip,

What else are you going to do to it?

Take along any design or lettering you want to your local sign maker (there are hundreds around) and they'll cut them out of one of thousands of colours of vinyl sticky backed sheeting.......they'll only set you back about a tenner for a large one and then you can be totally original in your design.

Ah, your plan seems sensible until I add the fact that the nearest such establishments to me are in Walthamstow, E17. Walthamstow, star of the east, where there is a booze shop under the sign "Bootlegers" and a mobile phone shop called "The Phone Loungh". I understand the gentlemen who run the local signmaker shops tend to the "this what you gave me, pay up now or I break legs. Off" approach to customer service. I can't be arsed trying to explain what I want - I've tried before, and I don't seem able to break things down beyond the one syllable word stage. However, if you want a GS tank sticker design produced as an A0 four coulour poster, I know the very man...

I did think of this Fanum, I'd seen a similar comment on an earlier thread, but the locals are really not up to it and the buggers in Clerkenwell where I work aren't interested in the one-offs. "Well if you want 10,000 we might see our way to negotiating a price but we're very busy..."

Ta, though, but I think I'll go with turning my bike into a clone of Bikergary's and watch the hilarious consequences if we ever park near each other. Silver and black tank stickers ordered from Motorworks this a.m.

"Motorworks, the lazy man's parts shop"

Here Trotsky, don't know if you got any where with the Tank Sticker, but this is my bike now with the new UKGSER sticker on.... what do u think ? :)

I got the silver stickers from Motorworks, (and the silver UKGSer stickers from Paul) and have ground to a halt for a couple of weeks. I will try to avoid making my bike look any more like yours in case we ever park next to each other :)

At the moment I have two plastic crates of bits to bolt on to mine that I have been accumulating over the winter. Problem is I don't have a garage and it's a bit taters to get out there and start work at the moment. And anyway, I have to wait for the beak replacement (see here) to come from Holland to really get started...

I'll post some before and after piccies when it gets done.

Just mounted stickers from boxerparts.com

Think they look great :P
