Hi,

just finalising all my kit for a trip down to Turkey next month, I have most of my gear with room to spare in my panniers and roll-bag so didn't really think I needed a tankbag.....but........

I've installed my autocom and have nowhere to sensibly put the radio. I'd rather not have it in my jacket pocket. I don't have much else I'd need to put in a tankbag so would rather not go to that expense. Anyone any ideas ????

I put mine into a HG Tuareg bar bag, It's nice and easy to get to and you can keep it fairly upright to get a better signal. Although the bag could swallow the radio whole, I kept the antenna poking out the top for a better signal. It got rained on a lot during a recent trip through the Pyrennes, and the radio was affected once by it, but was soon fixed by reseating and cleaning all of the connectors.

You may find yourself having to check it every so often, in case it gets bumped to a different channel, volume etc, so a tank or bar bag would be better for that.

As I had an Autocom PTT, the cables from that goes back to the Autocom box, and then has a fairly sort lead to connect to the actual radio. I had to use a Autocom/Kenwood extension to bring it back up to the headstock area.

A bar/tank bag is also handy for tolls, passport and tickets when getting on ferries... odds and ends. I dont like them myself usually, but they are useful.
