Can you start a new thread in Tapatalk? I've only used it to reply.

i did put this on another thread the other day
so this is just to help you if you are new to Tapatalk
spend a few moments looking at your settings before you post
look for the setting that says GEOTAGGING
make sure its switched to OFF
if you don't it will automatically add your google location every time you post
and it will show in glorious full colour detail exactly where your bike may be kept if you are using it at home :thumb2

i looked at the geotag map in tapatalk & it did indeed show some gsers locations, but only a dozen or so, so are they not persistent?

also, i was not there, despite geotagging switched on (now off). safe to say i don't fully understand the technology :)

we post lots of stuff on here re knicked bikes - we also post loads of pics of our farkeled bikes - old and new - and all the guys posting the beautiful air head restored bikes - Tapatalk is good but Geotagging is dangerous you say you don't understand the technology, but if anyone posted a simple reply to any type of post on here from their home with geotagging not switched off - i would be pretty much able to work out exactly where that bike is kept door number - street name - entrances in and out of the house in amazing crystal clear views including aerial shots end even worse perfect zooming in on all houses including windows and front doors and garages

i won't say how i know what to do on here - but there are plenty of guys on here who know how i can do it - just trust me when i say Geotagging in this instance is very dangerous in the wrong hands :thumb2

i fully appreciated what you said about the security implications the first time.

what i wanted to know was why were so few tags showing up, especially mine, as i had geotagging on by default?

sorry cookie
not quite sure why that was
will have a little look about n see what i can find out :thumb2

i wonder if the resulting maps are directly related to the thread being viewed/posted on, and not the forum as a whole?

only idle curiosity on my part, i turned it off when i first saw your warning. judge, bht and a few others had not.

just read a few things
big mix of people who have it turned on/off for different reasons and the different phones and settings all give different results
people are happy to use it for business stuff cos it shows where to go and buy things
the guy who sent a reply to a post from a lap dancing club was in the dog house when his mrs was on his forum :D:D:D

if you are having an affair perhaps it is best not to post on Tapatalk eek:
