Tear in my Conti TKC80 rear tyre. Anyone had the same??

I've got a tear in the Conti TKC80 rear tyre, it's only got 488 miles on it. pressure ok, not been going loony as it's new, only put it on a week ago

Anyone had the same or suggest a cause??

That looks like a cut to me after riding over something in the road.

You've run over something ........ just ride it and the cut will wear away

Tkc's do that. Just ride it.

Had a slow puncture in my front TKC since The Vince in July. I pump it up on Sunday night to 3 bar for commuting to work and by Fri night its down to 1 bar. Cant be fekked to fix it as not a lot of tread left.

Chuck in some tyre goo. It will slow down the air loss in a bad cut and knobblies tend to pick up nails etc between the blocks so it's always handy.

no leak at all !! but keep Stop & Go pack on bike all the time.

I was thinking if the crack is a worry, a good quality tyre goo (apart from stopping punctures between tread blocks) will slow the rate of air loss through any developing major fault.
