I just called TTS to order a Techlusion chip for my 1200GS (tested on a dyno this weekend and running lean with a full Remus system) and they told me there isn't one available.

Is this right ? Surely the 1150GS chip fits the 1200 ?

Not a 'chip' as such, but there is a 'Power Commander' type thingy available for the R1200GS.... from Wunderlich IIRC (http://www.wunderlich.co.uk). Not as versatile as a true Power Commander as it can only add fuel AFAIK, but might be sufficient for your needs - I am no expert though. I have spoken to Dynojet recently and they have 'no plans' to make a power commander for the 1200GS.

Interesting that your full Remus system makes the bike run lean whan Remus (and others - Akrapovic, BOS to name a couple) claim that no fuelling adjustments are needed (although they do say that further improvements can be gained by fuelling mods)....

Hope this helps,
Dave T

I think the Wunderlich product is a modified Techlusion chip but I hoped I could go straight to Techlusion as it might be cheaper.

The bikes fuelling is okay until about 5000rpm but then leans off. I didn't test it before I installed the exhaust system but I suspect it's casued by the Remus. Can't see how the bike could have been designed to run lean at high revs.

Nobody out there with a standard Techlusion on their 1200 ?

There is no 'standard Techlusion' for the 1200 GS.

The Wunderlich one is made by Techlusion. Wunderlich are the only outlet to sell it.

PowerCommander have no plans to make a unit for the GS. (AS per email last week from them)

thanks looks like i will have to get onto SPC in that case.

Hello Mike, I have got a techlusion/wunderlich controller on my 1200 which also has a full remus system and a k&n filter. I added the tech unit because my bike always 'felt' weak with the full system. I put her on the dyno using the basic settings supplied with the unit. The result was excellent fuelling with only a slight adjustment to the full throttle setting. Probably because at the time I was running a standard filter. BTW after the tweeking the old gal is putting out 97 rear wheel hp and more importantly, 77 ft/lbs of torque.

Mike:

I had two dyno runs done with my 1200GSA. The first run, with the standard catalytic converter and the BMW/Akro silencer, was weaker than the second run with the Remus header and the BMW/Akro silencer. Some owners who have had previous model years (myself included), feel that the '06 model year runs smoother and this may be because of changes to the fuelling.
The main reason for the dyno run was to check if the fuelling was ok; it was, just a little weak on a closed throttle.
Incidentally power is 90 bhp/6600 rpm and torque is 107 NM/5600 rpm.
I didn't have a run done with the standard exhaust as time was limited.

Mine showed 95 BHP peak power after 2,500 mile (compared to 87 BHP on the same dyno from my 1150GS after 50k miles but with a K&N, Techlusion and full Remus).

I will get the Wunderlich chip + K&N which should push it closer to 100 once the bike is properly run in.

It was interesting to compare the power curves - the 1200 was higher all the way through the but the gap was much smaller at lower revs.

I have the Wunderlich Power Controller, Wunderlich Air Intake Snorkle Upgrade, K&N Air Filter, And Full Akrapovic Exhaust Sysyem....

I recently rode the bike equipped as above....without the Power Controller the performance was noticably better than a stock bike....

But with the Power Controller added and adjusted/tuned....it really added alot throughout the powerband....the Power Controller allowed the other mods to do the job they were designed to do....to allow the bike to take full deep breath and now the power compared to stock is night and day....

The R 1200 engine is very mild in stock form....now Im totally pleased with the strong smooth power my mods have given an already good bike...

If you open up/upgrade the intake and exhaust...I highly reccommend you put a Wunderlich Power Controller on the bike too....it all works so well together....and the Power Controller allows every thing to work just that much better.....Its now a completely different bike...it feels like its got 25% more ...every where throughout the rpm range...

I have not dyno tested yet, but Im guessing Im right at 100 hp....

What are the settings on your controller & how do they differ from the stock settings given?
