According to the CMOS both drives are masters.

I pressed the red button - let's see

Gone into Windows set up asking for the XP disc.

Actually - I hadn't saved the change. Just done it again, it's booted perfectly into Windows from the mirror drive!

I'm puzzled now, though.

I've still got Drive C and drive F. They are no longer mirrors - drive F, which I assume I'm running from, has a new directory called Backup which has a everything in in and also has docs and settings, program files and a Windows directory.

C has all the stuff on it from before the crash. The raid still doesn't seem to work.

Now that you know it works and you've got all your documents, FFS do a DVD backup will ye?
