Having issues with my gs1200 Left hand indicator switch. Works fine one munute then will not work at all for a while, then it works again etc etc.
Took the switch cluster apart and the rubber boot over the indicator "button" that I found was in pieces. Pulled it out and discarded, plenty of WD40 and all seemed well for a while but problem is back, as bad as ever.
My questions are - is it likely a small piece of the rubber boot has got inside the switch gubbins? Is so, can I dismantle it any further or I am resigned to a £150 bill for a new switch cluster? (assuming a second hand one is not available)
Is the problem likely to be anything else?

Regards to all

It will be dampness causing the problem that switches are only signal switches with no load on them so the slightest hint of conducting and the ZF unit thinks they have been pushed. You can get a new switch from Farnell and replace the duff one. Costs about a tenner.

It's been covered before: cut the tip of the finger off surgical gloves and use to cover dry, clean switch.
