Tuther end is a tight fit ( water proof ish ) and also has a bolted strap thingy :ymca

The tube is the exact length for the poles so they don't slide around , however i'm going to take the panel of experts advice and drill all the way through the pipe and insert a split pin type thing . Haven't decided on hose clips or heavy duty ties :nenau

Does anyone have any contact details for RS :beerjug:

TIA

is it definitely clear of the back wheel if the suspension bottoms out?

Just been down to Whatton's World to give it a test run , 180 miles ish :moped: everything went well :thumb it got slightly warm and the strap melted a liitle bit :( but it's coming of anyway and i'll drill straight through tuther end and use a long pin thingy . Kev done the :bounce1 test and it was no whare near the tube :thumb Just got to get some large hose clips for the mark II version :beerjug:

It's all very good James, but have you thought of just shortening the poles ?? :D

It's easily done (and cheap as well) and will save all this faffing with howitzer barrels strapped to the bike bonny lad :)

Yee numptyheed...you divvent shorten the poles in use, yee just myek them shorter when they're folded up like.
As long as they're hollow poles, just cut an sleeve them wi some shock cord....you'll find canny sleeving tube at any camping shop or doon at B&Q ;)

Just seems a whole lot easier te dee than attaching things te the bike ?
