I know this has probably been asked a hundred times but here goes; After a return to motorcycle camping last year I’m looking for either a tent or suggestions to what would be suitable.
My dome tent has been great but I would like a porch area to sit (on a camp chair) and enjoy a bit of chill time with a glass of wine,MCN etc if the weather or midges aren’t playing ball.
Obviously weight and size would be a factor and something higher than 1 mtr when erected ideally. Wrestling leathers on/off in 30 degrees last year wasn’t fun and yes, we did have those temps mid July, even in Scotland !!

I use a Vango Omega 350 3 man tent. It has a huge porch and loads of space, quite a reasonable height but nit stand up size.

Oddly, it has (almost) exactly the same pack size of the much smaller Omega 250 2 man.

Pack the poles separately and (like a lot of tents) it’ll easily fit in a pannier/ top box with space to spare. I strap the poles to the top of a pannier.

We also use an omega 350, add decent ground sheet in the porch and you can fit x2 extra sleepers in emergencies.
It's big enough to have x2 chairs and table if required.
Weight is not bad for tent of its size.
Also check out the Galaxy by Vango, same sleeping area but porch is large enough to stand in, all for not much additional weight.

Top tent as has good vestibule space and a large cabin …both with ground sheet….
height about 125 cm if I remember right…good one

I also use the Bergman Cairngorm3, slightly lighter, less vestibule space, good height, faster to erect.
Got it from Gooutdoors…… seems to be replaced by this on…

Similar this one if weight isn’t so much an issue…..

Then a search might well turn up the answer :augie

That said, tents (like gloves) are a very personal thing. Just turn up at any UKGSer camping weekend or indeed any campsite and you’ll see more styles and makes of tent than you can shake a stick at.

Start with the basics:

How much do you want to spend?

How large do you want the tent to be?

Is weight and packed bulk a key consideration, though recognising that you intend to be travelling on a motorcycle, along with wine, presumably a chair and a copy of the ‘must have’ MCN

Google: Tents with a vestibule to sit in. That’s six words, your opening post had about 100. Up they pop:

If you're not to fussed about a large vestibule an MSR Hubba Hubba is an excellent choice.

I've got a Wild Country Etesian 4. It's says it for four folk but l've always used it on my own. Im 6ft 2" and can just about stand up in it. The porch is big enough for two to sit comfortably.
It’s dry stored and it comes with a dry bag for when you’re on the move.
It's never seen rain and only been used at three Abr festival event where the weather was really hot. I think it weighs about 9kg. I usually put it across my back seat. I am considering selling it so if you’re interested please message me.
