I had a all singing and dancing 2 man high tech tent... Went for a 3 man tunnel tent Vango beta 3...Sure it weighs much more but well worth it

Our vote goes to the KHYAM, however a few things to note they are heaver, bigger than normal when packed away and they are pricey, you also need Seal it yourself (Stuff included with tent) and you need to buy a Khyam Footprint ground sheet not sold as part of the tent.

Apart from that they go up in minutes, fold away in tens of minutes (Once you know how).

Another vote for Hilleberg. I have the Akto 1 person tent, it has a large vestible for storage and cooking etc but if im honest it can get a little cramped. Erects in seconds, the whole tent, foorprint, tent and flysheet all go up as one and pack away in seconds too. Lightwieght (1.5kg) and small pack size but expensive. Will last forever and never let you down.

I have a couple of Khyams, a Mckinley and one of the larger family type, they are both good places to sit and watch other tents blow away provided they are properly erected, the Mckinley is my biking tent but packs up on the large side to be honest, there are some smaller Khyam Backpacker tents which might be worth a look.

Mines a Khyam Eiger 2-man tent, erects like their others in seconds. Cost about £89 three or four years ago. Somehow I did managed to spear a hole in the fabric last year but that was easily repaired with the sticky patches provided with the tent. Yes, when packed up, it's a bit on the large size but the ease of erecting it more than makes up for that.

Khyam for me too......though I agree, they take up a lot more room than most small tents.

I have a "Micropac"....not sure if they make it any more.... but it was the smallest one they made five(ish) years' ago. It would fit straight into a "System" top box on my 1150, and the Givi Maxia on my 1200, swallows it. I'm not keen on bungying things to 'bikes.....saw a bloke come off a Ducati big time, when it all went into his back wheel.....so I really like the ide of a tent that fits into a top box or pannier. Piece of p**s to put up, used all over Europe, it in all weathers, never leaked/blown over......
