Test ride on a gsa from an africa twin owner

Even though I've had bikes for years, it only recently dawned on me that the bike you will like is the one that suits you at that point in time, and many factors will collude to encourage you to own and ride a certain bike, but if this has only happened to you once, you cannot understand how others can bear to ride a bike that isn't like yours. Plus once you have invested your hard earned dosh it rankles when someone proffers the opinion that your bike is shiite.

Over the last decade, I've rotated through an R1150GS, F650GS, H-D V-Rod, SV650, R1, and just recently a R1200GS, each move seemed perfectly logical ie wanting to slow down my riding, regain ground clearance, more BHP, better commuting/touring ability, lack of cash! etc.

So if someone wants to write their bike is better than another, they are probably correct, but maybe only for them at that time.

Though I'll agree the stupid names are pretty stupid at any time:beerjug:

So do we.... maybe the same guy... ;)

Dirk happens to be a really nice bloke who, as you can see on his user profile, has been around this site for some time.

You'll also notice that the XRV.org thread is nearly 2 years old. :nenau
