Test rode a 2011 12GSA again

Not when you're moving, you can't:blast

Bit late then:D

Yes you can - just press and hold the ABS/TCS button :thumb2 I hate the TCS system except on gravel strewn goat tracks in the Dales/NY Moors/Lakes as it really takes the edge off the performance. One up, it'll pull wheelies into third gear with the TCS switched off :D

I'll do that next time:thumb2

Ummmmm.. !?? I can turn my TC off on the move. Like JB, I often do - if you do want to have a bit of fun and hoik the front up over a few humps, bumps and rises in the road you need it off.

JB, I spend my life (it would seem!) on either an RT and a GS. (Twin cam..) The power delivery is very different in each bike. (gearing I suppose?)

The GS is has a much more rorty delivery compared to the RT and brings out the hooligan in me. Same motor but a very different feel about it, the RT is much more statesman like, smooth and sleek.

Weird how for the same lump, they're so different. :thumb

Ahhhh, Sven's beaten me to it... :D

The only time I have found ASC a hindrance was in Morocco when we went on a piste and we came across some sand unexpectedly. My 2 mates just got through the sand not having ASC, but I had ASC activated and when I needed more engine power, it died and I fell. I'm not sure ASC was the reason I fell, it may have been my poor skill, but I believe it did not help.

Looking at the manual I believe you can switch off ASC(1200 2008) on the move to either to off-road mode or fully off. I also believe it stays off until you stop and start the engine again.

Not sure if this applies to the 2011 model. Comments!
