You loose 2/3rds your body heat through induction to the floor.. you loose 1/3rd to the air. So, before you ditch your sleeping bag, have you considered getting a better sleeping matt?
I only 'ditched' my sleeping bag in favour of a smaller one.
I have a mat (thermorest) & it fits nicely inside the bivi bag if it gets too cold.
With my mat, bag & bivi I have various options available depending on the climate.
(I've even got my sleeping bag liner that packs as small as a pair of socks!)
