Blimey, its not until you see it for yourself that you suddenly realise how bad it is/was.
Mutters and I did a ride out via Bidford & Welford and over the Stanway last night.
You can still see a lot of water still on the main roads surrounding Tewkesbury, and the amount of Police was incredible.
Just as you enter the town from the M5 after about a mile there is a side road on the left, that was still flooded. In fact there was still a car in the middle of the lane with the water up to window level.
All of the main roads are still marked as closed with quite a few having Police cars guarding them to stop tossers on bikes riding through them
Some of the damage caused is terrible, those poor people, I beat they wondered what the hell has hit them.
The Worcs end of the town is still not passable at all. In fact they have even set up a mobile Police station.
One bit that did make me chuckle though, on the right hand side of the by-pass that is still under heavy flood, there is a huge sign saying:- Coming soon a whole new housing development by Bloor Homes
Not now there isnt....
I think that we did about 130 miles in total, and even called in at Mutters mums for a cuppa in Welford.
"Thats my boy"........:augie
Great ride out, even tried one of the lanes in the Cotswolds, but it was flooded, theres a suprise then.
