Hello,
Would like to get a pair of these bike jeans for myself and mrs dxtans, do not really want to order over the web, as I am bound to get them and they do not fit, send them back..etc...etc..

Does anybody know off-hand of a good stockist around the essex or kent/sussex area, Where we can try some on.

thanks
dxtans

Very good. They're like a heavy cotton material (with some added witchcraft for protection).
Very comfortable..Can wear in the office all day and walk around in comfort.
They have very good hip and knee armour. It's the usual BMW stuff.. Kinda strange as it feels very rigid initially but gets much softer and very comfortable as it warms up to body temp...

What are they like off the bike walking about? Comfortable? Do they have armour in the knees.

It's worth giving Hood Jeans a call, If they're not too busy you may be able to visit them and more or less get a pair 'made to measure' by trying on as many as you can until you find some that fit you.

They'll alter the length while you wait, as they did with mine (and my son's).

A great product and truly excellent after sales service should you damage them.

I second that - they're a very good pair of trousers, comfortable to wear on and off the bike. A good balance between protection, coolness and a little bit of light shower proofness. If you do try them on, as Padge said, the knee armour feels hard to start with, but you dont feel it any more once its warmed up. A bit odd, but it works. Plus they've got loads of zips and pockets for that retro punk look!

I've also got a pair of Hood jeans, which are great. Very, very thick denim - but they only sell online.

+1

Hong Kong gets warm and humid from about April / May onwards (by warm I mean UK 'average' summer temps) and by the time July is here the thermometer sticks at 33-ish degrees C, with many days at 35 / 36 PLUS (last summer saw days at 40 C!). 90+% humidity between July and the end of September makes it impossible to wear leathers (think 'boil-in-the-bag' - I've tried HG. Joe Rocket, Draggin Jeans and Hood jeans and the Hood ones are by far the best - accurate fittings and a great product that has the option of adding hip / knee HARD ARMOUR. The Hood jeans have an almost total inside protective layer, unlike the others, which only have 'strategically placed' layers. I ordered over the internet and their email correspondence was excellent and I got 2 pairs of brilliant jeans - wouldn't hesitate to order from them again - from order to arrival in Hong Kong was 6 days :thumb2 !

Good luck.

Nick
