TFT Protection - thanks you guys

Following reading on here about numerous speedos being pinched, i thought id look at my new TFT screen. Seems this would be as simple to nick.

Musing around in my garage i found an old bottom handlebar clamp (unsure what it was from) which looked like it would work so here it is.

Removed the screen, turned the retaining circlip for the TFT round so i cant just be popped up & off, then laid my clap thing over the top, marked it up, drilled 2 x 3.4mm holes, cut a 3.5mm thread and secured with 2 (VW Trim) screws. Nice & secure for the every day thief.

Naturally if someone wants to spend some time it can still be had but ive made it a fair bit harder & i dont think it looks too out of place.

Well done nice little idea but maybe antitheft screws would add a little more security.

It’s a clever fix but ridiculous that it should be necessary. This should have been an issue addressed by BMW in the design process.

Yep Andy it was just the idea antitheft bolts, obviously these are better..........

My bike has never been stolen, nor has anything been stolen from it when I have had butter in the fridge at home. QED
