Thanks Kedrey and Voyager

Just a word of thanks to two real bikers. They took the time to help me with the broken exhaust studs. Kedrey even took one of the heads in to KESL and picked it up again. THANKS GUYS.

So for anyone wanting to remove exhaust and don't know when last it was done. Wait till the winter. I broke all 4 undoing them and £210 later the bike is running again.

If I have to do it again I'll probably use Cylinder Head shop over in Ireland. They quoted me approx £20 per stud and then they replace them with brass inserts. They will also get Fedex to pick them up at your house and deliver them back again for £25 approx. It would have been a bit less than the £80 per head that Kesl charged me. But KESL was fast, 24 hours per head. I first did one and got it fitted before I took the other one off.

I learnt a lot and now think it was money well spent because I know my bike better and also are confident in the mechanical status of the bike.

See you on the road.

Glad to hear that the bike is up and running again Johan.

Also glad to have helped (but I didn't do much !).

See you at the next GS run (whenever that is).

Bob.
